Postnatal Doula Care
Postnatal doula care can begin anytime immediately following the birth of your baby and extends until the end of the 'forth trimester' i.e. when your baby reaches three months old.
Services provided include:
- Promoting recovery from birth for the mother including caring for baby/babies while the mother rests
- Engaging in household organisational activities such as tidying up and meal preparation
- Assisting in infant feeding; breastfeeding/bottle feeding
- Supporting the family with newborn care
- Guiding the family on normal infant development
- Debriefing following the birth of your baby/babies
- Providing informational resources as required
- Encouraging parents to listen to their instincts
- Supporting fathers in their new role
- Helping incorporate siblings into the new family routine
- Providing referrals to/information on local family supports and amenities such as Parent to Parent Support, Breastfeeding Support and Lactation Consultants, Cleaners, Gardeners, etc...
