About Us

Waterford Doulas is a group of local doulas who are passionate about parenthood. Our mission is to support new families in the Waterford area as they to adapt to their new life with their newborn and help them find their own path on the journey of parenthood.

Our doulas support all members of the family at this busy time, from mothers and fathers to siblings and pets. Having a new baby in the house can be a big adjustment for everyone and we want to help make that adjustment as peaceful and enjoyable as possible so the whole family will have the opportunity to bond with this special little person.

I'm a happy mam and wife who moved to Waterford from PoznaƄ in 2014. I decided to become a doula because I found a love for helping other mams.

My daughter, Lena, was born in Ireland. Our family really wanted to help us, but as they were 1,500km away in Poland, so it was not possible. It was then that I realised how important it is to have someone supportive and knowledgable, who you feel comfortable with while taking those early steps into motherhood.

Since then, I'm helping to support other mams in my community with joy and satisfaction. In 2016, I completed my Postnatal doula training with DONA International to help me to support mams in a professional manner.

I'm a mother to two wonderful little girls. Growing up, I would have always loved looking after babies in our extended family but since having my own girls I've found that my passion lies with supporting the family, mothers in particular, since they can get forgotten about in the excitement of those early days.

Becoming a mother has opened my eyes to how much our culture has changed around birth, the postpartum period and trusting parents to know what's best for their family. I believe that new families need and deserve a lot of support, given that they are sometimes so far away from their own family.
